engine swap

Hallo friends, sorry to write this is English but my German is very bad. As Rob will know (hallo !), I have been planning on changing the engine in my fire engine to an OM616 for some time, and finally got round to it. We pulled the engine out today, which went very well, even the stressful part of lifting the car body off the sub chassis went really well.
But now I have a few questions and would be very grateful for any advice......I have taken the engine from my 307d truck
I was planning to use the alternator (generator) from the 307d, but is does not fit easily, the front engine mount of the 319 is in the way (it is amazing that the same holes exist on the OM616 engine: my 319 was made in 1960, and my 307d in 1989!).
We are thinking of maybe using the dynamo (generator) from the petrol MB121 if it will fit more easily , this will simplify the electrics, but will not produce the same power. What should we do?
If any one has made a bracket/new fixing for the generator could they post photos? This would help.
I would also like any advice/photos of how to make the clutch work with hydraulics.
On the steering wheel, how do you remove the centre part with the mercedes emblem to get to the wire connectors for the horn and indicators? The manual I have just says push it out, but I don't want to break the metal ring.
We took a short video of the removal, so will post it on youtube soon. What a fantastic design that the engine comes away with the front wheels, sub chassis etc. These trucks are so well built.
