My new Ziegler

Hello everybody! I just won a beautiful 1965 Ziegler LF8 on ebay. It is in exceptional condition. I will be importing it back to Canada from Nuremburg, and won't be needing all of the fire truck accessories such as the front pump, ladder etc. If anyone is interested in buying any of these parts let me know. I will be driving it from Nuremburg to Bremerhaven on Nov 8th, and can probably deliver the parts to anybody who lives along the way. Here are some pictures of the beauty!!

Hi,
congrats on that nice 319.
Did you see it in person, before you bought it? Is it really in such a good condition? That would make it a great score.
Good luck for your travel to Bremerhaven and the shipping to Canada.
And please keep us updated with your plans for the LF8.

Thank you!! No I never seen it in person. Bought it based on pictures, sight unseen. It has only 16000 original KM on it and has just completed a fresh TÜV inspection good until 2015, so everything should be good. It was in service, well loved and maintained up until 2 months ago in a small village named Mambach near the Swiss border in southern Germany. I will keep my progress posted on future mods. I would like to upgrade the engine to a new and more powerful diesel. I seen on another post someone installed an OM602 inside a 319, I would love to do the same. I don't need it to have a major amount of power, but 100hp+ and better fuel economy would be nice.

Yes, I will share pictures and details of the journey. It might take a while to drive 620km @ 85 kph

. At least I will have the sweet sound of the M 121 to enjoy as it gobbles down 15l/100km of petrol!

Thank you Abel! I made it home after a great adventure! I decided to ship via container from Rotterdam instead of Bremerhaven due to less cost and direct shipment to Canada. I spent 4 days in Amsterdam at the end of the trip. Still recovering from that

Here are some photos from the journey:
