batterie zundung/coil

Beitrag von uley 319 »

Hallo friends, can anyone tell me the new Bosch number for a coil for my l319 fire engine? The original Bosch number is TK12 A3, the spares shops here in England cannot recognise this number and sold me a coil which does not work: the motor started with difficulty and backfired badly (bang, bang, bang etc.). The original coil works well but only for 1km after which it starts to misfire, and gets worse until it will not drive atall. Any suggestions of alternative numbers and or makes of coil would be much appreciated.
I also need a new carburettor/vergaser: the main jet casting has split. Does anyone have a vergaser body for sale? Many thanks, Jamie.

Hey Jamie,
please tell me the number of your carburetter ( stand on the carburetter, 34 pci or so ).
I think you don`t have a problem with your coil, you have a ignition problem, you need a ignition lamp, than you can correct the ignition time.
Maybe you have a problem with your spark plugs!
Test at first the spark plugs!
Test it and tell me more!

Hi Thommy, thanks for the reply. The problem with my truck started whilst on holiday in France this summer. The truck lost power going uphill, it would miss alot. It has new plugs, distributor cap, leads. I thought it was dirty petrol so put in new fuel filter, cleaned the carb out, float chamber, blew all jets through but still problem. We managed to limp home across the channel, and finally ground to a stop 100km from home. The AA (breakdown mechanic) thought it was possibly points and condenser. My friendly mechanic fitted new points and condenser and timed the engine as instructions in the manual (thanks). The truck would start and run very well for the first 3km, but would gradually miss a beat more and more, until it grinds to a stop. So I thought it might be the coil. Just found the new part number from Bosch today and have bought a new coil so will let you know how it goes.
The carburretor has the number 4529547 cast in the body at the front near the base and also has the number E14998 printed on a metal tag at the top of the carb. It is a Solex. The casting for the main jet has a crack in it. I have repaired this and made it airtight but I need a another carb because the repair won't last forever!
Best wishes from Uley, England, I must try to post a picture of my truck, thanks, Jamie
