Dear 319 forum members,
As your member Rob has mentioned in his reaction that we liked very much the trip to Dubrovnik.. The people’s reactions where amazing. Even de custom at the border of Bosnia Herzegovina doesn’t look to our passports but asked how old the van was. And I replied “probably older then you” We could drive on with a big smile from the custom officer.
In Germany we met some people. her father was butcher and had very warm memories of the 319. Father’s car had on the doors a pig head with on top, with the name written under that.He transported living cows in the van to his butchery. I asked them of they had a picture of the van but that was negative.
In Croatia I was followed by a couple in a in a black Mercedes from 1970 and when we stopped they where very interesting in our story.
A couple out of the Czech Republic who restored old cars were very interested to do something for us.
As you hear we got very much reaction from several people’s on and of the road.
We loved the trip and the country site and the eye-catching 319.
The van and the motor where fantastic during the trip after regular oil checks every 1500 klm
He used per 6200 klm only 1 litre oil
Thanks to Rob who gave us this special opportunity to do this
Best regard Vera and Jan Mul
