You would think back in the day, they would of kept it simple and just extended the rib curve?

There are 2 different types. Early chassis versus later chassis.
Im not sure which year it was changed but you should be able to see from the pictures which wheel carrier belongs to your 319.

Its possible that the linkage down near the grearbox needs adjusting or requires a new nylon grommet in the clip.

Surely its not to hard to take a measurement of the internal measurements of the inlet and then go to a autoparts shop?
Or remove the radiator and take it to a radiator shop and get all the internals cleaned. Remember there will be 50+ years of crud inside of it. And while your there, ask them to ...
